Trident Alloys in Springfield has first-of-its kind robot building sand molds for metal casting

In modern-day Springfield’s North End, a new robot playfully nicknamed by his new owners in Neptune’s honor is carrying Trident Alloys Inc. into the future of high-tech manufacturing. A partnership between Trident, Palmer Manufacturing of Ohio, which makes foundry equipment and software, and robotics creator Viridis3D of Woburn, Neptune is the first sand-mold printing robot in the country.
